Join the Trail Tamers and Hill Country Conservancy on National Trails Day, June 4th, in building a new trail for bird watchers exploring the Nalle Bunny Run Wildlife Preserve on Lake Austin. Registration is open to the general public but participants must be 18+.
Nalle Bunny Run Wildlife Preserve is a 50-acre tract on the banks of Lake Austin that is managed by the HCC with the central mission of enhancing wildlife habitat. The Preserve is managed primarily for the benefit of songbirds, small mammals, and for migratory, wintering and breeding waterfowl.
Volunteers will cut a new path (approximately 2 ,000 feet) through a sandy prairie and riparian corridor adjacent to Lake Austin using hand tools and string trimmers. Be sure to bring water, gloves, and safety glasses. Lunch will be provided.
Kevin Deiters is the crew leader for the project.
