Join REI and Hill Country Conservancy for a first look at Austin’s most ambitious trail project — the Violet Crown Trail on the morning of Saturday, August 22! Run, bike, or hike several miles of the first segment of the trail. Hill Country Conservancy is developing 30 miles of trail starting at Zilker Park in Austin and ending in Hays County. Once complete the trail will link two counties, dozens of neighborhoods and parks and will be a destination for hikers, runners, and bikers.

Join the REI Outdoor School and community leaders to view the newest portion of the trail and take advantage of the chance to explore the trail by walking, running, or mountain biking. Water, snacks from KIND and Wunder-Pilz Kombucha, and gifts from HCC and REI will be given out.

Those who want to participate in a course led by an REI Outdoor School instructor can register on the REI website. Space in the REI courses is limited. If you are unable to register, you are still welcome to visit the trail.
